Im Sommer 2017 entschloss ich mich kurzfristig dazu einen Teil des Appalachian Trails im Osten der USA zu wandern. Geplant waren 600 Meilen von North Adams bis zum Nördlichen Terminus Mount Katahdin in Maine.
Im Anschluss reiste ich zurück nach North Adams und wanderte weiter 300 Meilen in Richtung Süden bis Palmerton Pennsylvania.
Der Appalachian Trail erstreckt sich insgesamt über 2.175 Meilen/3.500 Kilometer und 14 Bundesstaaten von Georgia nach Maine.
